Additionally, the Imperial-Keio Joint Workshop on Applied Mathematics and Engineering will take place on Thursday, 27th March – Friday, 28th March, featuring talks from faculty members, PhD students, and postdocs from Keio University and Imperial College London. This will be a great opportunity to attend high-level talks, network, and participate in poster presentations.
MFC CDT Jamboree: 24th – 26th March
What to Expect
The Jamboree will focus on catastrophe models with an emphasis on UK flood risk, with activities including:
- A lecture on Introduction to Catastrophe Models, delivered by Dr Caroline McMullan and Dr Emma Lewington from Verisk.
- A hands-on guided exercise using climate data from the Had-UK-grid and UK Climate Projections portal (UKCP UI).
- Students team project investigating historical and future precipitation trends in different UK study areas.
- Final team presentations on Wednesday, 26th March.
